Roth or Hagar? Van Halen or Van Hagar?
I’m too lazy to create an actual poll, so vote in the comments and provide supporting evidence if you so desire.
I like both, for the record. As evidence I submit Dreams played over top of the Blue Angels. How can you not like this?

Roth, because Sammy Hagar was best in Montrose and Van Halen has a Required Silliness Quotient.

Gary Cherone.

Hagar. Because Roth squeaked like Michael Jackson too much to keep his man card.

I saw Roth with Van Halen a couple of years ago. I give the guy credit for the level of energy at his age, but his singing was just awful.

Nah I’m only joshin’ ya. Diamond Dave all the way, anyone who seriously says otherwise is officially an enemy of the state.

I do like Sammy’s voice better. Just has a little more punch.

Roth or Hagar - both were ok in the day, but Roth lost his ability to hit the right note.

Tough to call, but I’d say Roth.
While I like Van Hagar they had a different sound that I didn’t like as much.
Kind of like the Bon vs. Brian debate.

I prefer Hagar to Roth, although some of VH/Roth’s songs are classics.

Very much like Bon vs. Brian. Both good. Both made it work in their own way.

Roth, hands down.

Should have called it a career after 1984. Would have spared us years of bullshit and we could all remember the good times. Incidentally, the first 7inch, or really a 45rmp single, I owned of non-children’s music was Jump b/w House Of Pain (not Jump Around by House Of Pain). Some friend’s (in elementary school) dad worked at the local rock/pop radio station and he gave some extra station copies out to his kid’s friends.
I’m old.

I thought the afternoon poll was pop vs coke?

Please. The For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge album was quite instrumental in my musical puberty.
I think that was before you were born.

Van Halen. Though I did like “Right Now.” That said, I though VH got a little too light after DLR left. Too poppy.

I assume we are talking DLR in his prime. Because he is awful now.

Yes, both in prime.

DLR by a mile. I like Sammy, but his period with VH just doesn’t compare to the original DLR period.

I haven't watched that video in ages. It was interesting to note the slot pilot using his air brake to stay in position. I'd also be interested to know what sort of cameras they used, since that was long before the GoPro days.

Good question. I have no idea what they would have used.

Also, the Blues have been flying the F/A-18 for 20 years now, the longest of any aircraft in their history.

Good God. What the hell was this? It’s like a parody, but a bad parody. I wanted to stop watching but was too mesmerized by the awfulness to do so.

gary whats-his-face? One of the first cds i bought was vh4 or whatever the weird one was, I have a soft spot for it.
The true answer is roth though. There is an epic soundboard on the internet that is great for conference calls

Sammy Hagar is great don't get me wrong but Diamond Dave is better
